A Short History of St Mary the Virgin Gillingham

With its origins in Saxon times, St Mary’s was rebuilt in the 14th century and then substantially rebuilt and remodelled again in the 19th century.  It has borne witness to God’s presence in our community for centuries and, God willing, will do so for centuries to come.

If you enjoy visiting our beautiful church and using this guide to explore, perhaps you might consider making a donation using the giving page on this website?  The oldest building in our town, it is entirely maintained and funded through donations and good will.  Thank you for your interest in our church.
