Traditionally this is the Sunday when we ask you to review your giving, so:
If you don’t give to our church because no one’s ever asked you, we are asking you now. If you don’t give regularly because you have never got round to it, we are saying today’s the day. If you don’t give much because you think St. Mary’s doesn’t need it, we are telling you that it does. If you don’t give a lot because you haven’t got a lot, we are saying that you giving something is an example to everyone else. If you don’t give more because no one’s ever thanked you, we are thanking you right now. If you already give until the pips squeak, we are saying that’s wonderful: and nudge the person next to you to do the same. (text adapted from Revd. Dr. Sam Wells)
