Within our General Fund we run a Reserve equivalent to 6 weeks’ expenditure. This is for 2 reasons: firstly to cover any unexpected costs, but also to cover irregularities of cash flow. During May, large quarterly payments and delayed receipts, although expected, necessitated that we dipped into that reserve. This shows that our finances remain tight.
