Throughout our 2+ year interregnum and even now the Diocesan Share REQUEST is based on more than one priest. In year 1 we paid £50,670 (56% of the Request). In year 2, under the new scheme, the Rural Dean secured a reduction that enabled us to pay that discounted share in full (£66,798). For this current year the Request was for £71,645 but we have budgeted to pay only the share equivalent of a single priest (£54,660). Do note that clergy do NOT receive anywhere near this sort of recompense! More about this next week!.
