St Mary the Virgin church is open most days between 10am and 4pm for quiet prayer and reflection.
Silent prayer and gentle Bible reading and listening. Rooted in the Christian tradition and open to people of any or no faith. All are welcome.
Holy Communion with hymns, choir, organ or the church music group, bellringing and a sermon. All are welcome.
Prayers for healing are usually available after the 10am service at St Mary’s.
Refreshments follow the service in the Vicarage Schoolroom (church hall) on Queen Street.

Buy from our range of pre-loved books, jigsaws, etc.
There will also be an opportunity to purchase a variety of handmade craft items by J K Hall including cards, notelets and bags. Commissions also taken. A donation from each item sold will go towards St Mary’s Church Funds.
A drop-in sewing project at Eden Café, Vicarage School Room, once a month on a Wednesday afternoon 2 – 4pm. Come and stitch together to create your own journal of a year, month by month, starting on 25 September 2024.
Please bring your own materials: 1 12” – 14” piece of calico or cotton, needle and threads (circler template provided).

Join us for half an hour on a Friday morning for a small informal prayer group. We are currently praying for God’s guidance and support as we search for a new Rector in the Benefice.
Once a month on a Sunday morning we have a 40 minute service to begin Sunday.
A dementia friendly event in a local care home
Bring along your items for mending and a team of fixers will be available to perform straightforward repairs while you wait. No charge, but donations towards costs are gratefully received. Or just come along and enjoy refreshments in the cafe!
A Dementia Friendly Gillingham event followed by refreshments. All are welcome.
On Sunday 29 June, our Benefice service for the Feast of St Peter will take place at st Nicholas, Silton at 10:30am.
On the 5th Sunday of the month, the 3 churches of the Benefice come together to share Holy Communion. The service takes place at either 10am (when in St Mary's Gillingham) or 10:30am (when in St Simon & Jude, Milton on Stour or St Nicholas, Silton).
Small Things Like These
