8. SERVICES TO OUR LOCAL COMMUNITY

Temporarily suspended, except for the Foodbank. A special page regarding it, with all the indications needed, can be found on the left of this webpage.

We will resume the normal activities indicated below as soon as it will be possible.

A 'Food Bank' is run in partnership with the Metropolitan Food Bank every Wednesday 10.30am to 12.30pm. It is open to people living in the BD6 area and having received a voucher from a professional carer (like CHAS: free welfare advice in Bradford South; appointments at the 'Drop-in' organised in our church or at the Library: 01274 731909).

At these times, the church is also operating a 'Place of Welcome', when anyone can come into the church for a chat or some quiet time privately.

We are also running fortnightly 'Wibsey Drop-In' with the presence of the Council (wardens and Ward Officer), CHAS (social advice), Incommunities (social housing) and local police officers.

A free Computer Course is held in our church in partnership with Age-UK Bradford, every Friday 2-3pm.

'Man's Jam' is a group run by ShedCentral, by two health professionals specialised in men's mental health. It is open for older men isolated, and proposes activities around music. Every Tuesday, 1.30-3pm, but the 1st Tuesday of a month.

'Open Door' is a group proposing to do craft activities (painting, knitting) around a cu of tea, or just enjoy a chat with friends. It is run every 1st Tuesday of a month, 1.30-3pm.

'New Directions' is a charity supporting people suffering from a drug addiction. One of their professionals is in the community room of our church every Thursday morning, 9.15am-12.15pm.
