About Us

[Due to the Coronavirus Pandemic restrictions, some of the information below does not apply. Please check our website and the services and events section to find out what is currently happening.]

St Peter's is an ancient church dating back to 1180, situated on the High Street, near the heart of Limpsfield village. The church is open all day during daylight hours and welcomes everyone. St Peter's is a member of the Limpsfield & Tatsfield team of churches. Please visit www.stpeterslimpsfield.org for more details including services and ways to join in.

Our main service is at 10am on Sundays, with childrens groups (stepping stones for under 5s, and Xplore for school age children). There are refreshments served after every service. On the first Sunday of every month at 10am there is an all-age service with an all-age choir and orchestra. On special holy days we have an 8am Holy Communion service (Christmas Day, Easter Day).

On the first Wednesday of the month there is a community coffee morning where anyone is welcome to drop in for a coffee, slice of cake and a chat. All are welcome.

There is a regular Messy Church that takes place in St Peter's Church every second Sunday of the month from 3.30-5.30pm offering a range of 'Messy' crafts, activities, a short time of celebration followed by a meal. In addition, there is a Messy Church Sports Club that offers children (who prefer running around to crafts) the opportunity to play football, rounders or other games on the Glebe Meadow (selected dates only, weather permitting!).

There are many ways to get involved at St Peter's. There is a regular choir who sing every Sunday and at special services, including Choral Evensong, as well as a junior choir. There is also a committed team of bell ringers who ring half an hour before the 10am service, at special services and at weddings. Visiting bell ringers are always welcome. Our social committee meet regularly to organise a range of events throughout the year for the congregation and community. These include an annual Big Paint community event, quiz nights, wine tasting and BBQs.

As well as regular home and study groups, St Peter's has run its own Alpha course. Anyone, of any age, is welcome along to these sessions that explore the basics of the Christian Faith in a fun and informal way.
