Safeguarding

Safeguarding Statement.

St Mary’s Bearwood is committed to the safeguarding principles adopted by the House of Bishops of The Church of England. Bishop's Safeguarding Adviser 07342 993 844 email [email protected] . Parish Safeguarding Officer 07900 101595. In particular, we wish to ensure the well being and safety of all people, especially those aged under the age of eighteen years or vulnerable adults, while they are involved in activities authorised by our Parochial Church Council. This policy includes careful checking to ensure that all those who work with children, young people and vulnerable adults, are suitable to do so given the nature of the tasks involved. Another aspect of our policy is training, so that each authorised person is able to respond in a proper and appropriate way to any concerns or worries that a child, young person or vulnerable adult may have about their personal safety or treatment. We have a legal duty to refer to the proper authorities any person whose behaviour causes concern or who has harmed a member of a vulnerable group.
