On the 25th March 2026 — The historic rafters of St Nicholas Church echoed with the voices of local children this morning as St Nicholas School held its Easter service.Led by Revd Louise Collins, the service served as both a traditional celebration of renewal and a poignant gathering for a community currently fighting to save its village school. The service, which took place on Wednesday, 25th March, saw pupils and staff fill the pews.Revd Collins delivered a message centred on the Easter themes of hope and new beginnings, a sentiment that resonated deeply with those in attendance, given the ongoing challenges facing the 140-year-old institution. The service comes at a critical time for St Nicholas. Following a narrow vote by Hertfordshire County Council earlier this year to proceed with plans for the school's closure in August 2026.At the "beating heart of Elstree," St Nicholas School proved today that its spirit remains undiminished.

A Joyous Welcome to Our Newly Confirmed! We are overflowing with joy as we celebrate the ladies of our congregation who were confirmed and baptised at St Albans Abbey on Sunday, 5th April. It was a truly beautiful service held within the historic and sacred walls of the Abbey. Witnessing our sisters take this significant step in their faith journey and publicly affirm their commitment to Christ was an inspiration to us all. What This Milestone MeansConfirmation is a special rite where those previously baptised "confirm" the promises made on their behalf. It marks a deepening of their relationship with God and a fresh empowerment by the Holy Spirit to live out their Christian calling. To Our Newly Confirmed:"May the Lord defend you with His heavenly grace, that you may continue His for ever, and daily increase in His Holy Spirit more and more, until you come to His everlasting kingdom."We want you to know how proud your church family is of you. We are committed to walking alongside you, supporting you in prayer, and growing together in fellowship. With GOD'S BlessingAmen
