Access Project

The PCC proposes to improve access to the church both internally and externally. Phase 1 is for the external works and Phase 2 will cover the internal works. It is hoped to start work on the external works in May 2026 provided the necessary funding is available. The total estimated cost is circa £250,000. Some funding is already available and grants are being sought from the National Heritage Lottery Fund and other grant bodies.

The works comprise the provision of a stone ramp at the main south porch entrance to replace the steps down into the church, resin bound gravel pathways down the middle of the driveways and around the west side of the church, a new gate beside the existing kissing gate at the Stileman Way entrance to the churchyard and low level bollard lighting along all the churchyard pathways.

The drawings specification and schedule of works below attached show what is proposed in more detail.

Planning is in progress for Phase 2 , more details to follow.
