Dear Friends,Following the guidelines received from the government and the Church of England, all services at St Hugh’s are cancelled for the foreseeable future. From Tuesday 5 January until further notice the Cathedral will be open for private prayer and reflection only between the following times:<strong>Monday - Friday</strong>12 noon - 2.00pm <strong>Saturday </strong>12 noon - 2.00pm<strong>Sunday </strong>10.00am - 1.00pmAt this time the Cathedral will not be open for general sight seeing or tours and the shop and meeting areas will remain closed until further notice. Please note that only the nave will be accessible and there will be no toilet facilities available except on Sunday.<strong>Services</strong>A limited number of services will be taking place in the Cathedral that can be attended. The good news is that the Cathedral will continue to be here for those who wish to join us online. I know that this will comes as a shock to us all but it is important to follow the official advice. However, Southwark Cathedral will be open for private prayer and reflection on Sundays from 12 noon until 2.45pm and from 9.45am until 3.45pm Monday to Saturday.Cathedral Services of Morning and Evening Prayer, or Choral Evensong, as well as a Choral Eucharist on a Sunday and a said Eucharist on weekdays and Saturdays will be live streamed from this coming weekend. These services will not be open to the public but we hope that we will gather a virtual congregation.Details about how to access the live streaming and the times they take place will be made available from the end of this week.Please pray for one another as I am praying for you and remember the vulnerable near you during this challenging time.
