An opportunity for people who do not usually come to church to visit the building and meet our artist in residence – Xavier White. Xavier White is Artist in Residence at Christ Church Streatham and recently unveiled his first artwork of the residency, Maryam. Come and discover his art in the beautiful surroundings of Christ Church Streatham.
Xavier White (b. 1993) is a London-based artist and curator. His work is rooted in activism and provides a contemporary socio-political commentary on topics such as late-stage capitalism, identity, and toxic masculinity. Harnessing the power of semiotics, childhood toys, and bold colours, he makes complex political issues appear accessible, juxtaposing nostalgia and fun with the problematic past and present.
His work has been displayed across the United Kingdom, including the Royal Academy of Arts, and is held in private collection.
Xavier recently won the People’s Vote Award at the Brixton Tate Library this summer for his artwork Hungry, Hungry, Hypocrites! There will be tea and coffee available.

A charming children’s show full of comedy, slapstick and dance.
Two friends meet in a city park and discover all it has to offer!
From sunshine, rain, helicopters and even dog poo! Ew!
Suitable for 2-7yrs and their big folk! The show has no dialogue and is played out to an original soundtrack.
“This is a delightful work of children’s theatre”
Jonathan Baz
Entrance £5 on the door.

Sarah Bowden (clarinet), Jon Fistein (cello) and Marion Caldwell (piano) play Beethoven and Zemlinsky and are joined by Fr. Simon singing.
The evening opens with Beethoven’s first cello sonata, warm, quick-witted music written in his twenties, in which the cello and the piano hand the tunes back and forth as equals. In the middle come English Folk and French songs. It ends with Zemlinsky’s trio for clarinet, cello and piano, big-hearted romantic music by a composer Brahms admired and helped into print, and one who is heard far less often than he deserves.
Entrance £5 on the door.

Preparation Classes [six weeks] for First Communion will start Sunday 18th October. Classes will start straight after the service and pizza will be provided for the children for lunch. Open to children in Year 3 and above.
First Communions will take place during our Patronal Festival on 22nd November.
