St Andrew, Surbiton
‘Church at the heart of the community’
St Andrew's is one of two churches in the same parish, along with St Mark's.
As we follow the government road map out of the winter 2021 lockdown we are slowly reopening our church buildings for services. We are operating a mixture of in person and online services. Please see our service calendar on the parish website.
To join us online for our services please use the Zoom codes in the weekly parish email. To join us live on Facebook please click here
We are now open for private prayer at St Andrew & St Mark. Generally, but dependent on volunteers, St Mark's church is open on Tuesday between 9:30am and 3pm and Thursday 11am - 3pm; St Andrew's church is open Wednesday and Friday mornings 9:30 - 11:30am.
As we slowly reopen our church buildings we are still open as a community of people who are praying, worshipping, supporting each other and those in our local community. If you are wishing to speak or pray with someone, or you have a practical need please contact the vicar Robert on 020 83990639 or the parish office 020 3909129. We will be able to listen and in some cases directly help, and for other cases we can direct you to professional help and support.
We continue to meet with each other for online bible studies and an evening service each Thursday online. Please contact the parish office [email protected] for the Zoom code. Also you can join Morning Prayer via our Facebook page.
Social events have been planned such as a virtual quiz night, wine tasting and even a virtual trip to the seaside.
For information as to join these groups please contact the parish office on 0208 3909129 or [email protected]
In normal times there is worship in both churches every Sunday, with the main service at St Andrew's happening at 11:00 am. Both churches host community events as well as services. Around 15,000 people use the church buildings each year and around 5,000 come to a service. We seek to be at the heart of the community and we believe that we are! Some people just come to the churches for a concert or a party hire; others come to pray and find their faith in God is deepened. All are welcome.
The parish of Surbiton: St Andrew & St Mark is committed to the safeguarding of children, young people and adults. We follow the House of Bishops guidance and policies and have our own Parish Safeguarding Officer(s), PSOs. The Diocese of Southwark’s safeguarding pages contain vital links and information including contacts for the Diocesan Safeguarding Advisor (DSA) who advise our PSOs. If you are concerned that a child or adult has been harmed or may be at risk of harm please contact the DSA. If you have immediate concerns about the safety of someone, please contact the police and your local authority Children or Adults Services.

Most churches are “Excepted Charities” and are therefore not registered with the Charity Commission. You can download a PDF that includes your church name, address and church code. This PDF, which is an extract from the Church of England’s database of churches, can serve as a certificate for churches requiring proof of their charity status when registering for online and card-based giving. Click on the download button below and fill in the short form. You will then be emailed the certificate as a PDF.
