'Some like it hot'? Please take care if you or a loved one are vulnerable to the high temperatures because of age or infirmity. Fr Chris is listening to his own sermon on this subject: temperatures are higher where he lives than they are in the Coutances area - he will be staying home to care for Rosemary, who has several health issues putting her at risk. Our thanks to Donna for stepping in with our well-oiled 'Plan B' at Gratot.

Charities Sunday: Today we resume our pattern of giving the unallocated collection at Sunday worship to our Charities Association once every two months.

Survey: extreme weather provisions: please reply
Recent weeks have shown us that extreme weather isn't confined to winter! In a Chaplaincy like ours travelling a long distance to church in extreme weather ('canicule', gales, floods, snow...) can demand we weigh risks in terms of safety and health. Of course weather in France is highly local - the weather where the church is may not be the same as where you are!

In a 'weather emergency' like this weekend, what do you think we should do?

1 Carry on regardless as long as we have somebody local enough to safely take the service.

2 As 1, but in addition provide a service on Zoom (probably in the evening) for those who should not risk 'in person' attendance that Sunday.

3 Cancel the 'in church' service that Sunday at the church where the problem is greatest (can vary with the weather) and move the service online at the normal service time.
