CHERBOURG This week we hold our first service at Cherbourg: please pray for Adrian our ministerial lead in this outreach, and for all involved, and pray that spiritually hungry people in the north of our territory will see the invitation to come and meet us, and be part of the birth of a new church.
AGM - time for reports! Our Chaplaincy AGM is on Sunday 24th May. As usual we will present reports in writing so that people can prepare comments and questions in advance, making the meeting itself more efficient. Would those who normally prepare reports now send them to Agnes as soon as possible please? Thank you!A message from Fr Chris: Following a second 'incident' last Sunday I was sent for an urgent (but not 'emergency'!) ECG, and have now been referred to a cardiologist for further tests. Nothing immediately 'exciting' was found in the ECG, so we may be looking for some kind of intermittent arrhythmia issue caused by (a) a medication change, (b) stress, or (c) old age! Until a proper diagnosis I have been advised to reduce (b), so I am looking at ways of doing this while continuing to work here effectively. Exploring this, rather than simply taking 'sick leave' may mean me saying 'no' to things people want and expect me to do! If this becomes a problem then 'sick leave' remains an option. Wise quote: 'Stress is not caused by hard work, but by loss of meaning'. I have not been overworking!
Please continue to pray for our Chaplaincy
Lord Jesus Christ, thank you for calling us to be a Church under the banner of your Name:
may we look to you today and find clear vision for tomorrow.
May our life together bring you glory,
as you make of us a living invitation to enter the joy of your Kingdom. Amen
