Notes on Nehemiah: The first reading on Sunday morning is edited to avoid readers needing to stumble over lists of Hebrew names such as Hashbaddanah. The sense of the reading is probably improved by not having to hear the names of all the people standing next to Ezra on his wooden platform in Nehemiah 8. Feel free to use the attached edited sheet, but you are welcome to attempt the lists of Bible names if you prefer!
'Something More' housegroup: This week's session will be another 'spill-over' from Donna's Pilgrimage to Lourdes in the summer. 'Does Mary matter?' will look at what our Church actually believes and teaches about Mary and her role. It's too easy to highlight the things we don't believe about her, but what about the beliefs about Mary that Anglicans do hold, and can celebrate with other Christians?November magazine: Please send contributions to Margaret this weekend.
Please continue to pray for our Chaplaincy
Lord Jesus Christ,
thank you for calling us to be a Church
under the banner of your Name:
may we look to you today
and find clear vision for tomorrow.
May our life together bring you glory,
as you make of us a living invitation
to enter the joy of your Kingdom. Amen
