Help us to make more of our buildings - Open Meeting The Chaplain and just eight church members attended this meeting, with eight more sending apologies (and in some cases helpful ideas). Nobody from outside the church community responded to the invitation.Thank you to those who attended and those who sent apologies, and for the positive ideas that were explored. The Chaplaincy Council will now need to reflect on this outcome with the Archdeacon when he comes on 21st March.
'So British Day'! Penny Feather writes about the 'So British Day! 'We shall be gathering at 10am, with a jam/marmalade making session during the morning and a half hour Anglican service at c. 12 noon. Lunch will be provided and there will be other activities in the afternoon for those who wish to stay the whole day.' If you would like further details please speak to or email Penny.Service Sheets: Sending out the service sheet on Fridays for people to print or download was agreed a few years ago in order to reduce waste. Each week we do print a few copies to try to provide for visitors to our services, but (to state the obvious!) since we don't know how many are coming, we can't be sure how many sheets to print. (Of course that would be equally true if we returned to printing for everybody - we simply have no printing facilities at either church!)
Please do bring your own copy of the service if you can: it can be printed, or downloaded on to a phone or 'Kindle'. If you have a smartphone, then if you don't have a service sheet when you arrive in church you can even download a copy there and then from the website!
Chaplaincy Council we have two meetings in the diary! 14h30 on Sat 21st with the Archdeacon, and 18h00 on Zoom on Monday 23rd March. Verily our cup runneth over.....Please pray for our Chaplaincy:
Lord Jesus Christ, thank you for calling us to be a Church under the banner of your Name:
may we look to you today and find clear vision for tomorrow.
May our life together bring you glory,
as you make of us a living invitation to enter the joy of your Kingdom. Amen
