Lent 2024 - The Bible Course

For Christians, Lent is a time for us to think less about ourselves and our own wishes, and more about growing in love and service as disciples of Jesus. Key to this is a deeper familiarity with the Bible - but it can be hard to know where to start!
This Lent, at 19h45 each Tuesday (starting 13th Feb - Shrove Tuesday) we invite you (and everybody - feel free to invite your friends!) to take part in the highly acclaimed 'Bible Course' - produced by the Bible Society.
This is a broad-based course - not 'anglican'(!) - with videos to watch and discuss, and encouragement to read brief passages as part of our daily prayers. You are welcome to sign up to the Bible Society website and use their extra resources, or to simply join in with our group locally.
These are the sessions and dates:
13th Feb - 1: Introducing the Bible
20th Feb - 2: Creation & Covenant
27th Feb - 3: Exodus & The Promised Land - these three sessions hosted by Revd Chris Probert
5th Mar - 4: Judges & Kings - the remaining sessions hosted by Donna Derrick
MON 11th Mar - 5: Exile & Prophets
MON 18th Mar - 6: Jesus & The Gospels
MON 25th Mar - 7: Acts & The Church
MON 1stnd Apr - 8: Revelation & Review
The format of the sessions each week will be the same -

The link will open at 19h30, with the aim of starting the session promptly at 19h45.and finishing on time. The host will send you a link to that week's Bible Society video at the appropriate moment via 'chat' on Zoom. If possible, keep the Zoom chat open but please MUTE! your microphone), and open a new tab to watch the video.
If your computer is older or your internet is slow this won't work very well: in this case, open the video, close Zoom, watch the video, then come back to Zoom (using the original meeting link) for discussion.
Please be patient: the hosts are not technical experts!
