Despite the pandemic, our church has been open for services of the Eucharist since June 2020 and this year, 2021, although we continue to offer everyone the chance to participate in our Sunday services via Zoom, our congregation continues to return to the physical fold of our church building. All the necessary anti-Covid measure are kept in place but we worship joyfully together. Today is Pentecost and our patronal festival so we were happy to welcome so many of our church family to this special service.
23 May 2021, Pentecost. Our church has been open for Sunday services and midweek services for over a year now, despite the pandemic. We are grateful that in Italy we have been able to continue live worship, so today was a special day for us, a service of the Eucharist for Pentecost and a socially-distanced procession outside for a blessing from Canon Tony. We usually have a church bring-and-share lunch afterwards but, obviously, that is still not possible this year so there was dove cake to take away, duly wrapped in bags which were disinfected. How our lives seem to have changed! Yet the love of God is constant and we felt his arms around us today.
