On 8th March 2020, the Second Sunday in Lent, the Anglican Church in St Petersburg held its first confirmation service in recent years, with 3 members of the congregation confirmed and 1 welcomed into the communion of the Church of England.+Robert Innes, Bishop of Gibraltar in Europe, presided, with Rev Malcolm Rogers, Area Dean & chaplain of St. Andrew's Anglican Church Moscow, and Rev Eero Sepponen, the church's long-standing 'Porvoo' locum, assisting.Maria Karyakina, the churchwarden, also presented +Robert with a copy of the certificate confirming the formal registration of the church with the St Petersburg branch of the Ministry of Justice, an important milestone achieved at the end of last year.You can read +Robert's blogpost on his time in St Petersburg here
The Anglican Church in St Petersburg will be joined by Bishop Robert Innes, Bishop of Gibraltar in Europe, on Sunday 8th March for a confirmation service at 4pm in the Petrikirche.
