Concert of Zarzuela music, St George's Church, 4th May 8pm

Easter Notices

Zarzuela a Través del Tiempo, is a wonderful musical voyage through the development of the Zarzuela musical genre, performed by Elena Ramos, Soprano and Tania Moya, Piano.

Zarzuela is a type of Spanish opera, including both spoken and sung scenes, the latter incorporating popular songs, as well as dance.

The genre originated in the 1650s as an aristocratic entertainment, the first being performed at the royal residence of La Zarzuela near Madrid, from where its name was derived.

Zarzuela spread to the Spanish dominions, and many Spanish-speaking countries – notably Cuba – developed their own traditions.

The concert starts at 8pm. The bar will be open from 7.15pm.

Tickets €15. Reserve your ticket here. See more of our concert programme here.
