Malaga Chaplaincy, Vision Day, Saturday 15th November

SInce September, the Chaplaincy has been developing a Mission Action Plan (MAP), a vision for the type of church that we want to be in 5 years’ time and the steps we need to get there. This is not just some ‘nice to have’ document that sits in the shelf. Rather, having a credible forward plan helps us to better explain our mission as a Church, focus our activities, take informed decisions, and use our resources more effectively.

Members of the congregation have participated in a Consultation/Assessment Process (Sept/Oct) using an online questionnaire run by an organisation called ‘Holy Cow’, The results will be out in early November.

At the smae time, the leaders of the 5 Chaplaincy Council Working Groups - Finance, Fabric, Outreach, Events, Liturgy – are considering how their area might change in 5 years and the clergy team are looking at the wider changes in the Church, the Diocese and in our fellow chaplaincies along the Costa del Sol.

On Saturday 15 November, we are gathering for a half day to receive the results of the Assessment Process, hear the outcomes of discussions in the working groups and among the clergy, and begin to discern together the future for our church.

This is an important event that will have an impact on the sort of church we want to be for the coming 5 years.
