Church of England Diocese of Exeter East Allington

Services have changed & ALL REMAINING SERVICES IN DECEMBER HAVE BEEN CANCELLED

IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT REGARDING CHURCH SERVICES IN DECEMBER

It is with a heavy heart that Rev Alison Shaw and I have taken the decision to cancel the remaining Christmas services at St Andrew’s. With a number of people in the village in COVID isolation and the rising national cases it seems appropriate to limit the number of occasions on which a larger group would meet indoors.

Therefore the planned Christmas eve service, Christmas morning and the communion on the 27th will not be taking place.

There are services being streamed by the diocese - details are at:

The Bishop of Exeter has recorded a Christmas message at:

Locally, there will be a zoom service to which you are invited. Details for joining are available from [email protected]

It is a grey and wet day today, and this news doesn’t help to raise the spirits. We don’t know what the new year will hold but we do know that the Christmas story is about the Light of the World and the Hope of the Nations coming to earth, and light & hope are really needed now. Alison and I pray that, amidst this difficult situation, you will find Light and Hope.

Looking forward to seeing you all in 2021 and with best wishes for a Happy Christmas
