St John, Meshaw

 Welcome to St John, Meshaw.

There is no longer a need to reserve a place in church for worship. We wish to continue encouraging the use of face covering while in the building.  Seating is at the discretion of the individual, we ask that you respect if someone wants to remain socially distanced. Hymns have been reintroduced to services. Communion continues to be offered in one kind only - bread - and will be brought to you in your seat.

The church is open daily for private prayer.

We offer a more formal type of service grounded in Church of England liturgy with the love of God at the heart of all we do and offer. The services are in modern language using Common Worship resources to mark every season of the church year.

While life is still not back to ‘normal’ it is good to see it opening up further. For those still uncertain about coming back to church we have online resources available and be assured you are all in our prayers whether you feel able to join us again yet or not. We have a Facebook page for Witheridge and surrounding churches. It is a closed group but please feel free to ask for access. ‘The church of St John the Baptist, Witheridge’. We are continuing to record a service every Sunday which is available on the Facebook page and via email from [email protected] or call 01884 861383.

There is also a 24/7 telephone line available called ‘Daily Hope’ which is free and has a selection of hymns, short reflections and prayers call 0800 804 8044. This may be of use to your friends and neighbours who have no access to the internet. Please share it with them.

The services to mark and celebrate, in the sight of God, the important life events are now possible again. Baptisms and weddings can be booked however they are still with reduced numbers of guests, no singing inside the church building and all adults must wear masks unless exempt. Please contact Adrian 01884 861383 to discuss dates.

We are part of the Little Dart Mission Community, a group of 12 churches under the leadership of our Team Rector, The Reverend Tony Rockey 01769 581712
