About Us

Please note we are currently in vacancy/interregnum which means our parish priest has very recently moved to another parish and we are currently in the process of finding a new Oakworth Parish priest. In the meantime we continue to be supported by diocesan priests who will lead us in our communion services.

Christ Church is open each Sunday, for Communion/Eucharist services at 10.30am til 11.30am with refreshments afterwards. The church is a growing Christian community of all ages and backgrounds. While we are part of the Anglican Church we have members whose backgrounds are from different Christian denominations.

As a Church we are committed to offering people a creative inclusive community in which to discover and practice the Christian faith.

Our daughter Church - St John's Newsholme serves the rural parts of our large parish. St Johns is a unique church building which is part of a farmhouse in the hamlet of Newsholme, surrounded by farmland and countryside, approximately 1 mile north west of Oakworth.

St. John's Communion services are every Sunday, at 9am.
Each first and third Sundays
of each month are 'sung' Eucharist/communion services with hymns accompanied by the organ and sermon.

Each second and fourth Sundays a 'said' Eucharist/communion (no hymns or organ). Evensong services are held on (mostly) every second and fourth Sundays each month at 3pm.
