Wednesday of Holy Week. Said (no hymns) communion service, with readings and healing prayers for those who have requested especially using our prayer tree and boards at Christ Church.

Traditional Maundy recalling Jesus Last Supper with his disciples. With Holy Communion and symbolic foot washing if you wish to do so. The service concludes with the dramatic reading of Jesus' betrayal, and the 'stripping of the altar'. Followed by a quiet candlelit prayer vigil. Church open til 9.30pm

Meeting at Christ Church at 1.30pm for hot cross buns and cuppa before walking to St. John's Church Newsholme in time for the Good Friday Lityurgy at 2.30pm (traditional service of hymns accompanied by the organ and bible readings recalling Jesus' journey to the cross.

Ancient traditional candlelit service beginning outdoors at sunset to light the Easter fire and new paschal candle. Service continues indoors by candlelight as we recall the salvation story through scriptures and song. The darkness of the cross is put behind us as e celebrate Christ's Resurrection with the first Eucharist of Easter and make a joyful noise of thanksgiving.
