Church Weddings - Your questions answered

Congratulations! It is great news that you are getting married and we are delighted that you are considering a church wedding. We have two church buildings in the parish in which you can marry. These are Holy Trinity Church Dilton Marsh and All Saints Church (the Tin Church) in Brokerswood. Holy Trinity Church can seat approx. 180 people and All Saints can seat approx. 50.

You are eligible to get married in Holy Trinity or All Saints if, either of you

has at any time lived in the parish for a period of at least 6 months or was baptised in the parish concerned or was prepared for confirmation in the parish or has at any time regularly gone to normal church services in the parish church for a period of at least 6 months

or, if one of your parents, at any time after you were born:

has lived in the parish for a period of at least 6 months or has regularly attended church services in the parish church for a period of at least 6 months

or, if either your parents or grandparents:

was married in the parish

If, you are unsure which parish you live in the easiest way is to visit the A Church Near You website and enter your postcode.

Please contact Lynne (administrator) [email protected] as soon as you have a date in mind for your wedding. We will then invite you to a marriage preparation session in order to help you plan for the special day. Lynne works Mondays, and Thursdays from 9:30am – 5pm.
