Church of England Diocese of Norwich Shereford with Dunton

St Nicholas Shereford with St Peter's Dunton

CHURCH SERVICES resume from Easter Sunday April 4th (with current Govt. social guidelines).

Services and events click tab left / then Calendar tab. And BENEFICE Services tab left for our local Churches group.

St Nicholas' Church, Shereford, with its thousand year-old round tower, is administered by the Diocese of Norwich Churches Trust.

Shereford Church's Patron Saint Nicholas was a fourth century Bishop in what is now Turkey, who gave gifts to the poor and needy. With his Continental name Santa Claus his identity has leant itself to Father Christmas.

Medieval St Peter's Church, Dunton, with its Victorian windows and recreated rood loft, is administered by the Norfolk Churches Trust. Both remain operative as sacred spaces and for Services.

Dunton's Patron Saint Peter was the chief Apostle appointed by Jesus. Formerly Dunton Church Patron Saint was Mary the mother of Jesus.

[The Upper Wensum Benefice, which includes Shereford and Dunton Churches, is committed to the safeguarding of children, young people and adults. We follow the House of Bishops guidance and policies and have our own Parish Safeguarding Officer(s), PSOs. The Diocese of Norwich’s safeguarding pages contain vital links and information including contacts for the Diocesan Safeguarding Advisor (DSA) who advise our PSOs. If you are concerned that a child or adult has been harmed or may be at risk of harm please contact the DSA. If you have immediate concerns about the safety of someone, please contact the police and your local authority Children or Adults Services.]
