Music and Worship

St Mary's Tower has a ring of eight bells which are rung every Sunday morning to call people to worship. Training for new ringers takes place on Monday evenings.

St Mary's is a popular venue for concerts, with its large capacity and well lit staging area. The Somerset Choral Society and Wedmore Arts Festival hold regular events the, with other live events taking place regularly.

Organ

St Mary's has a small and enthusiastic robed choir that always welcomes new voices. No previous experience of singing in choirs is necessary, just enthusiasm and commitment to regular Sunday morning services and Friday evening choir practice.


Groups, Courses and Activities

Brass Rubbing

Two Home Groups meet in the village on a regular basis to grow in faith and knowledge and for members to support each other , one on fortnightly on Wednesday evening and one weekly on Thursday evening.

St Mary's Messy Church meets every other month on a Saturday afternoon 3-5 p.m.

St Mary's Tea Set is a monthly gathering for some of the older members of our community who live alone. The group meets in the Lady Chapel on the second Friday of the month at 3.00 p.m. for tea and conversation

Other Features

A Traidcraft Stall is open after most Sunday morning services and at the monthly FairTrade Coffee Shop

A drop off bin is kept in church for people to leave food that will support the Cheddar Valley Foodbank based in Cheddar
