Looking for a fun team game to enjoy over the school Summer Holidays – come and join Revd Jan for a free game of rounders at Coxley Recreation Ground at 3pm. If it’s wet we won’t play. Don’t forget to bring a bottle of water with you, and under 8’s must come with a guardian.

Join other people from local area for a short Holy Communion service without singing. This is a great service to come to if you find it difficult to attend Sunday services or if you want to celebrate Holy Communion during the week.

Join us for a service of Holy Communion. There will be hymns, prayers, Bible readings and a short sermon too. Plus tea and coffee are usually served after the service.

During the summer holidays, we're holding three fun mornings for primary school and younger children and guardians at Coxley Church. Children can play with a variety of toys, let off some energy with an outside treasure hunt, or enjoy some of the other activities, and refreshments. No fees, no need to book - just turn up, and tell your friends too!

At Easter, we’ve celebrated Jesus conquering death, and the short course for this summer will be looking at Jesus appearing to a variety of people before he goes to heaven to be with God. These miraculous meetings are captured in art from the medieval period to the modern age. Join a friendly group of people for an hour as we look at these pictures, hear a Bible reading, and take away something to encourage our faith. Sessions start at 7:30pm. Venue: St Matthew's Church. Every fifth Sunday we rotate which church we hold a morning service in so we can all gather together. This time, we’re gathering in Henton Church to share Holy Communion. We're going to be singing hymns accompanied by the organ. There'll also be prayers, Bible readings, and a short talk, with coffee afterwards. We hope that you will join us!

It can be hard to meditate or pray on your own, so come and join a friendly group for a time of meditation/silent prayer once a month at Buxton's Community Room (left of Buxton's Close), Vicarage Road, Wookey, BA5 1JW.

Please arrive from 2pm so that we can all be seated by 2:15pm, as there is a security lock on the door. Each session starts and ends with a short reading, but the time in the middle is silent for you. There's a chance to enjoy a cuppa and a chat afterwards too. Come and join us for a fun evening for all of the community with food, bar, games and stalls opening from 5pm. Plastic ducks are released into the River Axe in Wookey, journeying downstream to near Wookey Church Hall, where there's the finish line, and the ducks are all caught by a barrier. The first race will start at 5:30pm, with local businesses kindly sponsoring races. You’ll be able to buy the ducks from them for £1 per duck, and you can buy ducks on the night. There’ll be games – skittles and hook a duck. Plus sausages in rolls, drinks and delicious cakes! We’ll have a range of other stalls too, for all ages. The money raised goes to St Matthew's Church Wookey.

Join us for Holy Communion in a spoken service without singing. This is a calming small service.

Revd Jan is planning 6 sessions looking at what Christians believe. Get to know others as we discuss the bible and how it relates to our lived experiences. Join us for an informal worship all-ages service. This is a great service to attend if you are new to Church or interested in Christianity.

Join a small group to explore stories of conflict and reconciliation from the Old Testament. Each week we'll focus on a one work of art, and hear the story of from the Bible. Wookey Church is dedicated to St Matthew, one of Jesus’ disciples. He collected taxes for the Romans so, he wasn’t popular with everyone, but went on to write the first of the gospels.

Join us as we celebrate St Matthew’s Day with the church open for tours to the top of the tower! There’ll be refreshments to enjoy throughout the afternoon, and we're excited about a special performance by Wookey Choirworks!

Here's an invitation to experience a labyrinth walk with experienced facilitator Nicola Fidgin from Wessex Labyrinth Walks. Nicola will bring her portable labyrinth and guide us through the process of mindful, meditative, prayerful walking.
