Welcome to our page on A Church Near You!
Christ Church Henton is a beautiful church in the village of Henton, near Wells. We are part of a group of 3 churches and 4 parishes, known as a benefice, which are looked after by Revd Jan Shellard-James.
The first phase of Revitalising Christ Church Henton has been completed, and we are delighted that the church reopened on Sunday 31st May 2026.
The weekly prayer meeting is held in the church.
On the 1st Sunday of the month there is a relaxed service over breakfast at Henton Village Hall, which is free, and very much enjoyed. And a traditional Evensong service in the evening with organ music and singing.
On the 2nd Sunday of the month, there will be a Holy Communion service.
On the 3rd Sunday of the month, we all join together to worship, and the location of services is rotated between the three churches in the benefice.
On the 4th Sunday of the month, there is a very traditional Holy Communion service, using the Book of Common Prayer.
If there's a 5th Sunday in a month, this is also a joint service, and rotated between the three churches in the benefice.
You are very welcome to come to any of our services or events, and details of these can be found on this website, or on our own website www.chwchurches.co.uk There are also more details about this church and the benefice on our website.
