Wookey’s Annual Duck Race is taking place from 5pm on the first Friday in September in Wookey Churchyard. Come along and have a fun filled time!

The first race will start at 5:30pm, with local businesses kindly sponsoring races, including The Burcott Inn, Ring O’Bells, The Pheasant Inn, and The Hub. During August, you’ll be able to buy the ducks from them for £1 per duck, and you can buy ducks on the night. All money raised helps to support our Wookey Church.

There’ll be a range of games with prizes for all ages to enjoy. Plus pizza, drinks and delicious cakes! We’ll have a range of other stalls including tombolas. Please bring cash!

We need Chocolates and Bottles!

We’re collecting unopened bottles and chocolates for the tombola stalls. They might be bottles of soft drinks, washing up liquid, alcoholic drinks, shampoo etc. And chocolates could be chocolate bars or boxes, biscuits etc. 

Please can you drop off any bottles or chocolates at The Vicarage, Vicarage Lane, Wookey: Monday 17th August - Thursday 3rd September (8am and 7pm).

We need Homegrown Items!

We’re in need of homegrown items for the Homegrown Stall. It could be jams, preserves, honey, fresh fruit and vegetables, plants, herbs, relishes, or bread.

Please could perishable items for the Homegrown Stall to be left at Wookey Church on Friday 4th September, and the non-perishable items to be dropped off at 3 Knowle Lane or at the church from Monday 24th August – Thursday 3rd September.

Buy Ducks in Advance

Pop into one of the Wookey businesses sponsoring a race and buy ducks for that race ahead of time in August. The sponsors are The Burcott Inn, Ring O’Bells, The Pheasant Inn, and The Hub.
