It can be hard to meditate or pray on your own, so come and join a friendly group for a time of meditation/silent prayer once a month at Buxton's Community Room (left of Buxton's Close), Vicarage Road, Wookey, BA5 1JW.

Please arrive from 2pm so that we can all be seated by 2:15pm, as there is a security lock on the door. Each session starts and ends with a short reading, but the time in the middle is silent for you. There's a chance to enjoy a cuppa and a chat afterwards too. You’re never too young or too old to eat PANCAKES! Come and join us to celebrate Shrove Tuesday (17th February) at Wookey Church Hall to decorate and eat some delicious PANCAKES. There will be some fun activities and crafts and even tossing the pancake if you’re brave enough! Join us for a Holy Communion service to mark the start of lent. During the service the mark of the cross will be made on everyone's forehead. The ashes are made from palm crosses which are associated with the start of Holy Week with Palm Sunday. This is a very special way to start the period of lent, and everyone is welcome to attend.

Join us for a fun quiz focusing on general knowledge, with yummy puddings and hot drinks to enjoy during the evening. You can also bring your own drinks with you. There are 6 people to a team, but don't worry if you can't put together a team, as we will be happy to arrange this for you. Tickets are £10 per person, and the money is for St Matthew's Church Wookey. You will need to reserve your ticket with Katrina, and then pay in cash on the night.
