The Pre-Raphaelites were a group of artists founded in 1848. They wanted paintings to be imaginative and realistic, while often containing symbolism. Many of their paintings remain
popular and well-known. During this short course we’ll look at four Pre-Raphaelite paintings, exploring their messages about faith and our response. We’ll meet at 7:30pm in a private

At Pentecost Jesus’ disciples changed from being fearful to courageous. Jesus was no longer with them physically, but God’s Holy Spirit was and still can bring us courage and fullness of life. Join us to celebrate Pentecost at Wookey Church. This will be the only Sunday service taking place in the benefice, as we join together to celebrate.

Join other people from local area for a short Holy Communion service without singing. This is a great service to come to if you find it difficult to attend Sunday services or if you want to celebrate Holy Communion during the week.

Pet owners and animal lovers are in for a special treat: Wookey Church is hosting a Pet Service! Join us for this special service of blessing and singing, with refreshments afterwards. All pets are welcome: it’ll be great to see an array of animals inside the church. Maybe dogs, cats, rabbits, hamsters, rabbits, fish, goats, hens, horses and more! Owners, please ensure that you are in control of your pets at all times and that dogs are all on leads.

Join us for a service of Holy Communion. There will be hymns, prayers, Bible readings and a short sermon too. Plus tea and coffee are usually served after the service.

At Easter, we’ve celebrated Jesus conquering death, and the short course for this summer will be looking at Jesus appearing to a variety of people before he goes to heaven to be with God. These miraculous meetings are captured in art from the medieval period to the modern age. Join a friendly group of people for an hour as we look at these pictures, hear a Bible reading, and take away something to encourage our faith. Sessions start at 7:30pm. Venue: St Matthew's Church. Every fifth Sunday we rotate which church we hold a morning service in so we can all gather together. This time, we’re gathering in Coxley Church to share Holy Communion. We're going to be singing hymns accompanied by the organ. There'll also be prayers, Bible readings, and a short talk, with coffee afterwards. We hope that you will join us!

Join us for Holy Communion in a spoken service without singing. This is a calming small service.

It can be hard to meditate or pray on your own, so come and join a friendly group for a time of meditation/silent prayer once a month at Buxton's Community Room (left of Buxton's Close), Vicarage Road, Wookey, BA5 1JW.

Please arrive from 2pm so that we can all be seated by 2:15pm, as there is a security lock on the door. Each session starts and ends with a short reading, but the time in the middle is silent for you. There's a chance to enjoy a cuppa and a chat afterwards too.
