Join us as we celebrate harvest, with the farms, fields and countryside around us this is a lovely community service, as we thank God for his blessings over the harvest. There'll also be prayers, a short sermon and refreshments after the service too! Please bring any food donations to the service with you, and these will go to Wells Foodbank.

Join other people from local area for a short Holy Communion service without singing. This is a great service to come to if you find it difficult to attend Sunday services or if you want to celebrate Holy Communion during the week.

Join a small group to explore stories of fallings-out and making up from the Old Testament. Each week we'll focus on a one work of art, and hear the story of from the Bible. Join us for a fun quiz focusing on general knowledge, with yummy puddings and hot drinks to enjoy during the evening. You can also bring your own drinks with you. There are 6 people to a team, but don't worry if you can't put together a team, as we will be happy to arrange this for you. Tickets are £10 per person, and the money is for St Matthew's Church Wookey. You will need to reserve your ticket with Katrina, and then pay in cash on the night. You can park on Church Road and walk past St Matthew's Church to the Church Hall, or you can park in other nearby roads. We look forward to seeing you!

A fun afternoon for children and families at Wookey Goat Farm, with crafty activities, a treasure hunt, campfire to roast marshmallows on (weather permitting), and planting bulbs.

Join us for a service of Holy Communion. There will be hymns, prayers, Bible readings and a short sermon too. Plus tea and coffee are usually served after the service.

Join us for Holy Communion in a spoken service without singing. This is a calming small service.

Come and join us for a special service as we remember those who we love, but who are no longer here. This service offers quiet and space for reflection, as well as the opportunity to offer thanksgiving for the lives of loved one.

This service will last about 50 minutes and will include hymns, readings, prayers, as well as an act of rememberance, when the names of those we have come to remember will be read out and a candle lit for each one.

There's no need to let us know in advance if you are planning to attend but if you would like the name of your loved one to be read out during the service, it would help us if you could please email Katrina at [email protected] Please let us know by Wednesday 29th October. If this is not possible then you can let us know when you arrive.

It can be hard to meditate or pray on your own, so come and join a friendly group for a time of meditation/silent prayer once a month at Buxton's Community Room (left of Buxton's Close), Vicarage Road, Wookey, BA5 1JW.

Please arrive from 2pm so that we can all be seated by 2:15pm, as there is a security lock on the door. Each session starts and ends with a short reading, but the time in the middle is silent for you. There's a chance to enjoy a cuppa and a chat afterwards too. We'll gather together outside the church to pay our respects for those who serve, have served, been injured and given their lives in past or present wars. We especially think of the local people who died during World War 1 and World War 2, and we'll lay wreaths at the memorial to them, after a time of silent reflection and remembrance. We'll then go into the church to have a short service of remembrance with hymns, prayers and a short talk. We hope that you are able to join us as we pay our respects to those to whom we owe so much.

Taize is worship with gentle chants, readings and times of silence. It's rather like mindfulness while inviting God to speak. If you haven't tried Taize before, you are in for a treat.

To truly celebrate Christmas, it helps to see Christ as more than just the baby in the manger or the saviour on the cross. While the Apostles’ creed jumps from “Born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate”, this advent course looks at the life of Jesus hidden in that comma and will help us ponder what Jesus’ life means for us. Every fifth Sunday we rotate which church we hold a morning service in so we can all gather together. This time, we’re gathering in Wookey Church to share Holy Communion. We're going to be singing hymns accompanied by the organ. There'll also be prayers, Bible readings, and a short talk, with coffee afterwards. We hope that you will join us!
