At Easter, we’ve celebrated Jesus conquering death, and the short course for this summer will be looking at Jesus appearing to a variety of people before he goes to heaven to be with God. These miraculous meetings are captured in art from the medieval period to the modern age. Join a friendly group of people for an hour as we look at these pictures, hear a Bible reading, and take away something to encourage our faith. Sessions start at 7:30pm. Venue to be confirmed, but hopefully at a location in Henton. Sessions on Thursdays on: 26th June, 3rd July, 24th July, 31st July, 14th August and 28th August. St Matthew's, Wookey

Welcome to our page on A Church Near You!

St Matthew's Church is a beautiful church in the village of Wookey, near Wells. We are part of a group of 3 churches and 4 parishes, known as a benefice, which are looked after by Revd Jan Shellard-James.

There are services almost every Sunday, except during some months on the third Sunday of the month. Also if there is a 5th Sunday in a month, a service might take place at a different church in the benefice. There is also a weekly Holy Communion service which is held every Wednesday. You are very welcome to come to any of our services or events, and details of these can be found on this website, or on our own website www.chwchurches.co.uk There are also more details about the this church and the benefice on our website.
