Christ Church
Christ is Risen Alleluia
After the despair of Good Friday, when we identify with Peter denying Christ three times, and the silence of Easter Saturday, when the crucified Christ was laid in a tomb, sealed with a stone, we share the excitement today of the women who went to the tomb to find it empty, when Mary encountered the risen Christ, whom she mistook for the gardener. We celebrate Christ Risen with a benefice service of Holy Communion at 10.30 a.m. and this is followed by light refreshments as we continue our fellowship and catch up on the news of our friends and neighbours.
Our Readings this week are:;
Acts Chapter 10 verses 34-43
Luke Chapter 24 verses 1-12
Heavenly Father,
On this joyous Easter day, we come together as a family to give thanks and praise for the incredible gift of your Son, Jesus Christ. As we celebrate His resurrection, we are reminded of the triumph of light over darkness, hope over despair, and life over death.
Amen
