Christ Church
Happy New Year! We pray that 2026 will bring peace to this troubled world.
This Sunday, the first Sunday after Epiphany, we bring you a service of Morning Worship at 10.30am in the Church Room, which is easier to heat than our main church, and our service is enhanced with live music by Steve Bloggs. The readings focus on the baptism of Jesus by John the Baptist, and they remind us of our own baptismal vows, and the need to examine them afresh as we start eacxh new year,
Our service will be followed by light refreshments, as we catch up on news across the parish, so please come and join us.
Our Readings are:
Isaiah Chapter 42, verses 1-9 The Servants of the LOrd
and Matthew chapter 3, verses 13-17 The Baptism of Jesusu.
Gracious God, in Jesus Christ,
baptized by John in the Jordan,
you came to share our life
and deliver us from sin and death.
As we are baptized with water
pour out your Holy Spirit upon us
to make us your beloved children;
through Jesus Christ our Lord.Amen
