Christ Church
Sunday 31st August is a fifth Sunday in the month and the 11th Sunday after Trinity, when our Benefice celebrates Holy Communion with an United Benefice Service at Christ Church at 10.30 am , and live music courtesy of Steve Bloggs. The service will be followed by light refreshments in the Church Room as we catch up on news between out three churches. Do come and join us as we praise God together.
Our readings this Sunday are:
Jeremiah chapter 2: Verses 4-13 Jeremiah reminds Israel that they have forsaken their Lord God, and have a great need to repent
Luke chapter 14 verses 7 - 14 The Parable of the Wedding Feast.
God of power and justice,
like Jeremiah you weep over those
who wander from you,
turn aside to other gods,
and enter into chaos and destruction.
By your tears and through your mercy,
teach us your ways
and write them on our hearts
so that we may follow faithfully
the path you show us.Amen.
