Christ Church
Sunday 12th July is the sixth Sunday after Trinity, and Christ Church welcomes you to a service of Morning Worship at 10.30 am. The gospel reading today tells of the farmer sowing seed in his fields, and the crop growing on ,different sorts of soil. Let's hope our soil has plenty of depth with the forecast heat wave!
Our service will be followed by light refreshments in the Church Room, as we exchange news and share our experiences, so do come and join us
Our Readings are:
Isaiah Chapter 55 Verses 10-13 You shall go out with Joy
and
Matthew Chapter 13, verses 1-9 and 18-23 The sower and his harvest, a parable explained by Jesus.
Whatever we are today, whatever the mix of path, rock, thorns or soil, help us to aspire to become the good soil in which an abundant harvest may flourish. Help us to challenge ourselves to become courageous advocates for truth and justice, to stand up for those on the margins of society, to be a voice for those who are rarely heard. Help us to face our own challenges, whatever they may be, with inspiration and courage so that we may succeed in all that we set out to do
Amen.
