An evening with Pauline Rook - AWARD-WINNING SOMERSET PHOTOGRAPHER!

We are absolutely thrilled to announce that the incredibly talented rural documentary photographer, Pauline Rook ARPS, will be telling the story of her photographic journey since moving to Lopen at The Sunday School in Lopen on 21st November 2026 at 7.30pm.

Pauline is an Associate of the prestigious Royal Photographic Society and one of the South West's most celebrated visual storytellers. Darkroom-trained and deeply passionate about the English countryside, she has spent decades capturing the raw beauty, hidden traditions, and shifting landscapes of rural life and farming communities.

Her powerful imagery has been commissioned by The Museum of Somerset and the Somerset Rural Life Museum, and she has authored several beautiful books documenting local history and the working people of our county.

All Saints Lopen

Welcome to All Saints Church, Lopen — a beautiful and peaceful corner of Somerset with roots stretching back over 800 years. Whether you're a regular in our pews, visiting the village for the first time, or simply curious about what goes on here, you'll find a warm welcome waiting for you.

We're a small, friendly congregation at the heart of the Lopen community which is part of the Merriott Benefice together with St George's, Hinton St George; St Nicholas', Dinnington; St Michael and All Angels' Church, Haselbury Plunkett and St. Martins, North Perrott .

We'd love to see you at one of our services and events here and/or any church within our benefice — details below — or simply drop in during the week to enjoy the peace and history of this special building.

If you're planning a wedding, christening, or need support at a difficult time, please do get in touch. We're here for the whole community, not just on Sundays.

**Stay in the loop**

Wondering what's on, when to join us, or what's been happening across our six churches, you can join our email distribution list by contact Julia Hicks the Rector and our News & Services section is the place to look. You'll find up-to-date service times for every church in the benefice, the latest parish news, upcoming events, and anything else you need to know to get involved — whether you're planning your first visit or you've been part of our community for years.

Check back regularly, as we update it throughout the month — and if there's something you'd like to see included, we'd love to hear from you.
