A member of St Philip's remembers how they stood firm...On a Thursday evening back in December 2025 I had managed to eat my dinner with no problems. But a couple of hours later, when I opened my jaw there was a pain on the left side, preventing me from opening my mouth fully. This pain continued into the night and kept me awake a bit. I prayed, “Thank You Daddy that I am healthy, healed, and whole, in Jesus’ Name”. As I did this I could sense Daddy smiling, like, “Don’t worry, it will be OK”. The next morning when flossing my teeth, each time I pulled the floss between my teeth and away from my gum there was a sharp pain, for both sides of my mouth. I quietened my own thoughts of what I would say to a doctor about it, and continued to thank Dad for my healing and health. That evening I struggled to eat my dinner. Each time I tried to eat from my fork, it was painful to open my mouth, so that I could only open it slightly, not enough to eat all of the food, so knocking some of it back onto my plate. I continued to thank Dad. A couple of hours later I somehow sensed that I had been healed. I resisted the temptation to test my jaw by trying to open it fully, but just kept thanking Dad. That night I brushed my teeth with no problems, and the following morning I flossed my teeth with no pain. And that evening I ate my dinner as normal. Thank You Jesus.
A member of St Philip's recalls their conversation with the Spirit...Last year, 2023, I developed a really sore throat, in that every time I swallowed it was painful, the swallowing motion that is. As it got worse, and it’s surprising how often you swallow without realising it, I thought of making a doctor’s appointment for Monday, that day being Friday. Then I thought, ‘God (Daddy Jesus Spirit) could heal me by Monday’ so I said, “Thank You for healing me on Monday”. Immediately the Spirit responded, “So you want to be sick until Monday ?!” ‘Oh’, I thought, ‘Yeah’, “Thank You for healing me on Sunday”. Immediately the Spirit responded, “So you want to be sick until Sunday ?!” ‘Oh’, I thought, ‘Yeah’, “Thank You for healing me on Saturday”. Then I got cheeky and thought ‘Actually I could be better this afternoon’, but that was me talking, not the Spirit. Anyway, that afternoon I did start to feel better, but in the evening and night time swallowing again became painful. The following day, Saturday, I went for a walk around the Palm Bay estate. While out, I suddenly noticed that my throat had become numb, kind of anaesthetised. By the time I got home all the pain in swallowing had gone away, and it didn’t return. Thank You Jesus.
A member of St Philip's recalls two linked events over a twelve-year period...My daughters grew up to know Jesus, but when they were aged seven and six my wife divorced me and I had to move out of the house. I maintained contact with my daughters as best I could, but for various reasons it was difficult to do so. After two years of no contact, my older daughter decided to make me a part of her life again, so we started to meet up. I learned that she was now agnostic i.e. she didn’t know whether God exists or whether He doesn’t. So I prayed that God, my Dad, would make Himself real to my daughter. One Saturday, back in 2019, we met up for our weekly connect, and we decided to go to Bugsy's that day, in Margate. After playing pool for a bit and as we were leaving the building, we passed an arcade grabber machine. This reminded me of an incident from her youth that I then recounted to her, as she had forgotten it: I was out with her and her younger sister at a children’s party in the hotel next to Margate train station on a Saturday in 2007, when they were aged five and four. There was one of those amusement-arcade grabber machines where the children are guaranteed a prize for each turn. She had a go and grabbed a bracelet, which she then gave to one of her friends. She came back to me and asked to have another go. This time she got a bag thing that she let another girl have, though actually the girl snatched it off her. Then I thought I had better let her younger sister have a go. We positioned the grabber over the soft toys, and when it came up it had grabbed four, yes four, soft toys ! I couldn’t believe it as I was watching it happen. I told my older daughter that it was Jesus giving her two toys back for the two she had given away (or had been taken from her), plus two toys for her younger sister. (When I got home I tried recreating this by attempting to pick up the four toys from the table with my hand, but I couldn’t do it !) So, twelve years later, I recounted this story to my daughter. She was a bit down that day as someone had stolen £20 from her pocket when she had forgotten her coat and left it at a party the previous weekend. We left Bugsy's, crossed the road, went down towards the sea, and walked along the cliff path. Suddenly she stopped, then stepped over the metal railing that ran by the path, and retrieved a £20 note that she had seen fluttering in the grass. What were the chances of that ? Of me having related this previous story of Jesus recompensing her, she immediately then being reimbursed for this latest loss ?! Thank you Jesus for showing my daughter Your personal knowledge of and care for her.
A member of St Philip's tells how they prayed and Jesus answered...Back in 2012 I was part of a church group that met in a school in Ramsgate. One Sunday morning, as the service was about to start, I noticed one of the group was hanging around outside and not going into the hall for the opening worship-music part of the service. I asked him if he was alright. “I’ve got this terrible knife-like pain in my ears”, he said. “I’ve had it for ten years and I’ll have it for another ten years”. I told him not to say that and offered to pray for him. I mention at this point that whilst this guy was currently a genial and jovial chap, in a former part of his life he had been an enforcer in gangland London, and was then described as ‘an animal’. He was a big guy and if you bumped into him you would literally bounce off him. “Go on then”, he said to me, “Get on with it”. I put my fingers on his ears and prayed in English, and then in the Spirit. I then went into the hall for the music, which he always avoided due to the loudness of the guitars and drums. He said he would join us later. I did indeed see him come in a little later, during the music, despite the whistling feedback and distortion of the microphones, which seemed to me to be worse than normal that day. I looked across and he appeared to be wincing. After the service he came up behind me in the queue for coffee, put his hand on my shoulder, and told me that the pain had gone and that he was healed as I prayed for him. Thank you Jesus. The following Sunday he stood before the group and told everybody about the freedom he now felt from the pain, and how he had been crying during the previous week’s service during the music, thanking his Saviour, Jesus.
