Toy Service

for 1 hour
Church of the Good Shepherd
The Street Hamstreet, TN26 2JH, United Kingdom

Each year villagers and the congregation of Hamstreet donate toys for families and their children who would otherwise not have presents on Christmas Day. In our service on Advent Sunday, these gifts are presented and prayers offered for all who will be blessed by the generosity of others.

St Mary Magdalene

This is a small, rural church with a big heart and everyone is welcome to any of our services and events. We hold a service every Sunday morning, apart from a 5th Sunday when we join together with all the other churches in the Benefice. On that Sunday we travel to whichever church is hosting the service that month. A service of Holy Communion is held on the 1st Sunday at 10.30am and the 4th Sunday at 10.30am. A non-Communion service, led by a church member, takes place at 10.30am on the 2nd and 3rd Sundays and we regularly hold informal, family-based services when breakfast is served at 10am, followed by a short service and a children's activity. Saturday Coffee Mornings take place weekly April - September and a pre-Christmas 'Warm Up' with soup and puddings, crafts and cards, are a great way to meet friends old and new.

Safeguarding

"Our parish of Ruckinge: St Mary Magdalene is committed to safeguarding children, young people and adults from harm. We follow the House of Bishops guidance and policies and have our own Parish Safeguarding Officer (PSO). Our Diocese of Canterbury’s safeguarding pages contain vital links and information including contacts for the Diocesan Safeguarding Advisor who advises our PSO. If you are concerned that a child or adult has been harmed or may be at risk of harm please contact the PSO Pauline Williams 07907 676829 or the Diocesan Safeguarding Advisor Fiona Coombs 07548 232395. If you have immediate concerns about the safety of someone, please contact the police and your local authority’s children or adult social care services."
