Address
Peel Lane, Astbury Village Astbury Congleton, CW12 4RQ, United Kingdom

Join Astbury church choir for another special Evensong on Sunday, 24th March.

Following the success of our Tudor Evensong last September when there were 40 singers, Choral Evensong for Holy Week will again focus on the late Tudor and early Jacobean repertoire – known as the golden age of English church music. There will be an introit, anthem, Magnificat and Nunc Dimittis, and responses for choir, with hymns for the congregation by composers including Weelkes, Tallis, Byrd and Farrant.

The afternoon rehearsal will be from 2.30 to 5.30 with a break for refreshments, and the service will be at 6.30.

To take part, or for more information, please contact our director of music, Sally Drage: [email protected] or 07977 903561. There is no charge but do book a place by Monday, 18th March. Music can be emailed out in advance, and midi files will be available.

St Mary

St Mary's Church at Astbury invites everyone, wherever they may find themselves on their spiritual journey, to join in our Christian adventure. Together as a church family, we seek to grow more like Jesus, helping carry one-another’s burdens, sharing our talents and gifts, praying and worshipping together. We do not take ourselves too seriously and we know we are far from perfect, but we do make amazing cakes.

Whether you are a regular church-goer or you just want to dip in your toes and test the water, you are sure of a warm welcome at St Mary's.

SAFEGUARDING

St Mary's cares passionately about the safety of all her church family and visitors.  Read how we make provision for safeguarding here.
