The Tower

When the church was built it had a broach spire, made in wood, however tis became unsafe and was removed in 1948-9 a new roof was constructed under the supervision of architect H.Earp.  One visitor to the church said he remember the day the tower came down as he attended the adjacent Church Primary School, all the children were allowed to come out to watch.
