IMPORTANT NOTICESt Peter’s Church, Chellaston Garden of Remembrance Due to water ingress from the Garden of Remembrance adjoining the Lady Chapel the ancient sandstone blocks are being damaged. To prevent this from worsening we are removing pots of flowers and other objects left on the ledge surrounding the church and leaning against the walls. We will also be removing wreaths and ornaments left at Christmas on both gardens. These will be taken to the Vicarage and kept safely. Please contact the Vicar on 01332 704835 should you wish collect something. Anything that is not collected by the end of March will be disposed of.It would help greatly if in future you would return after a week and remove any flowers etc that you leave when they are usually past their best. To further prevent damage to the church please do not leave flowers propped up against the downpipe in the drain as this is connected to a soakaway which becomes blocked with dead flowers and leaves and causes damage to the church walls. Please help us to keep the Gardens of Remembrance, where your loved ones are buried, clean and tidy.Thank you for your help. The Vicar and Church Wardens.
