Welcome to Joe! In March 2026 we welcomed Revd Joe Knight back to Newnham, Awre and Blakeney - we were very pleased as he had been curate here a few years ago. Joe has written a message about his return: 'Hello everyone! It's been wonderful to arrive back in Newnham and be greeted by such a lovely welcome across our benefice communities. In many ways it feels like coming home to the Forest once again, and the whole family is looking forward to the next few years. My role here is a little different to a 'traditional' vicar—they call it 'transitional', recognising that change is happening across the Church of England and we have an opportunity to form what that looks like together. Not only in the church, but in wider society, the world is very different today from four years ago when I was here before. So, I am praying my role will be characterised by hope and blessing. There is much to be hopeful for here. I really believe that. The love of God transforms everything. And there are many ways we can love our neighbours and serve our communities in the light of this love. So, I look forward to the journey ahead, and I look forward to journeying together and what we will discover. With love and blessings, Joe and the Knight family'
