Stixwould Annual Parish Church Meeting

Occurring
for 1 hour
Venue
St Peter's, Stixwould
Address
Stixwould, LN10 5HP, United Kingdom

After the Eucharist Service, St Peter's in Stixwould will be holding the Annual Parish Meeting in the church.

The purpose of this meeting is to elect the churchwardens for this next year (2026/27). Every person on the electoral roll for Stixwould village has the right to attend and vote for their church wardens - who are the essential link between the church and the people who live in the parish.

At the conclusion of that meeting the Annual Church Meeting will commence. This meeting is open to all who are on the St Peter's Church Electoral Roll.
Items on the agenda include the approval of the auditor for the church accounts for 2026, the reports on the accounts, the fabric of the church, church activities, a ministry report and the election of the two Joint Church Council (JCC) members.
If you are eligible and able to attend either or both of these meetings, please do so.

This is your village church, it is there for you for all the important milestones in family life - for family weddings, for baptisms (all ages!) and at the end, the funerals of your loved ones. But it is also open for you to take time out from your busy lives and just spend a few minutes resting in the peace of the Lord.

If your community group needs a meeting place (and the village hall isn't available) and you think the church would be suitable (sorry no toilets though!) please contact the Margaret Forman for a discussion about how we might be able to help fulfil your needs and the costs involved.

Safeguarding

Most of the time at church we are like a big happy family. However even in very happy families, people can have a bad day and even people we know and trust can upset us. We want to help everyone have good days all of the time. We try to make sure that people who have jobs in the church always behave well and in a way that is helpful to you. We never want anyone or anything in church to frighten you, confuse you or worry you. It is important that you tell us if something is upsetting you or if you are feeling worried about something that's happening or something somebody is doing. We have specially trained people who can talk to and who you can ask for help. These people are good at Safeguarding. This means they look after everyone's safety. Caring for people is a very important part of our Christian life.

Our Parish Safeguarding Officer for the Woodhall Spa group of churches is Margaret Forman who is available to contact via 07931 574498, or email [email protected].

If you wish to speak with someone outside the church, you can contact the Diocesan safeguarding team – their contact details are available in the link below. There is also information there about other places where you can get help or advice.
