St Stephen and All Martyrs (Oldham)
A friendly and growing church serving the local community of Lower Moor. We are the oldest & biggest Community building in the area - built and paid for by the Colliers & Mill workers of the area.We have been here since 1873 but only our Church Warden, remembers those days. Our Vicar Rev'd David Austin only arrived in 2018.
We are a family friendly church & welcome children/babies (& adults too) - you take us as you find us. We believe in a Church that does not discriminate against people on the basis of age, gender, sexuality, ethnicity, physical or mental abilities. Everyone is welcome here to worship and to share in the life of this Parish. We don't stand on ceremony - apart from at the altar. We love our area & love our Worship - we are informal in a 'Low Catholic' style with occasional incense and full vestments. We are committed to serving the area including the two primary schools in the vicinity.

The parish of Lower Moor: St Stephen and All Martyrs is committed to the safeguarding of children, young people and adults. We follow the House of Bishops guidance and policies and have our own Parish Safeguarding Officer(s), PSOs. The Diocese of Manchester’s safeguarding pages contain vital links and information including contacts for the Diocesan Safeguarding Advisor (DSA) who advise our PSOs. If you are concerned that a child or adult has been harmed or may be at risk of harm please contact the DSA. If you have immediate concerns about the safety of someone, please contact the police and your local authority Children or Adults Services.
