Jeremy Thomas' "The Human One" Exhibition

During September 2023 St Anne’s Church Royton are excited to host the Welsh Artist, Jeremy Thomas’s “The Human One Exhibition” which is currently touring various cathedrals and churches around England and Wales.

Jeremy Thomas has had a passion for art since he was very young and obtained a degree in graphic art before enjoying 15 years working as a primary school teacher. He was brought up in Ebbw Vale, Wales.

Since September 2018, and as voluntary Artist in Residence for Saint Mary’s Priory in Abergavenny, Jeremy commenced The Human One project which aims to tell the story of the Gospels through art. The notion is to produce thirty images, one for each piece of silver that was paid to Judas Iscariot for the betrayal of Jesus. The project was inspired by a rousing service at St Mary’s Priory in Abergavenny where the congregation were challenged to use their talents to spread the Christian message. This body of work illustrates key moments in the birth, life, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. The paintings contain hidden details and threads which become clearer upon contemplation and the more you delve into them.

Jeremy has self-funded the exhibition tour as he believes this is a wonderful way to share the Good News. To view more art by Jeremy Thomas, visit the website www.jeremythomasart.co.uk
