As I promised here is a list of dates and films for the coming 6 months. Other than September, we will stick to 2nd Tuesday in the month. 

15th September Argo with Ben Affleck based on the true story of the escape of the American hostages from Iran in 1979. It’s billed as a thriller, and that is how I remember it! 

13th October Far from the Madding Crowd with Carey Mulligan as Bathsheba. 

10th November Remains of the Day (after the 1989 novel by Kazuo Ishiguro) with Anthony Hopkins and Emma Thompson who get great reviews. 

8th December - Christmas party! The Choral written by Alan Bennett and starring Ralph Fiennes and a host of glorious actors. It says it is funny and moving so sounds just right for Christmas. It’s set during WW2 and is about a choir and a choir master 

12th January Local Hero with Burt Lancaster and Peter Riegert in a film ‘with a loving heart and an exuberant charm’ 

9th February  The Pianist. A Roman Polanski film set in Germany. 

The Film Club is open to all. 

It’s held in the Genner Room next to the church, where we have a 72 inch television. We meet at 10 for tea, and start close to 10.30.
