Every second Monday of the month from 2pm-3.30, we have a Friendship Group for elderly people and their carers.

The group is run by a team of devoted volunteers who seek to practically love older people and those who care for them.

We chat, support and love each other through all the variety of life, over tea, coffee, and Margaret's amazing cakes!

Each month there is a Quiz, armchair exercises, a film, even poetry readings and sing-alongs!

We keep in contact with a fortnightly phone call to catch up and check in. This continues to be a lifeline for those living with long term illness or living alone.

Caring for someone can be lonely and tiring; the team at Friendship Group is always there to support carers, to come alongside and to listen.

We can provide free transport to those with mobility issues made available with funding from the Co-Op.

There’s no charge and no need to book, you can just turn up, and you will be welcomed with open arms, and lots of cake!!!
