Church of England
Diocese of Winchester
St. Bartholomew Hyde, Winchester
St Bartholomew
St Bartholomew’s was founded in 1110 as the church for the lay workers at Hyde Abbey, where the remains of King Alfred the Great are believed to have been re-interred. With a significant place in the cultural heritage of Winchester, it is also the parish church of Hyde and Abbotts Barton. Our worship on Sundays is shared with our benefice’s other churches and currently takes place on Zoom only – please see our newsletter for details of how to join in. All are welcome.
