Evening Prayer (Common Worship) is said on weekdays in the Lady Chapel - all are welcome.

The Bishop of Ricborough will preside at the Chrism Mass with the Blessing of the Oils in Guildford Cathedral.
Limited transport (minibus) will be available from St Ambrose Church.
There is a Cathedral Refectory, or you may prefer to bring a packed lunch.

On Maundy Thursday, 2nd April, 2026, there will be an Evening Mass at 7:30 p.m. in the main church. This will follow the usual (LHWE) order and include representative Washing of the Feet. At the end of the service the altars will be stripped and we move to the Lady Chapel, where an Altar of Repose will be prepared for a Vigil until midnight. If you are able to stay, even if only for a short time, you will be most welcome.

🔴 11:00 a.m. Good Friday liturgy: prostrating on entrance, bearing the wooden Cross; Proclamation of the Cross and veneration; followed by Communion from the Sacrament consecrated on Maundy Thursday.

The Stations of the Cross are followed around the church, with a short guided meditation and prayer at each Station.

The service begins outside the main entrance of the church where we Light the Paschal Candle, from which we light our own candles. It is then borne in procession and the Exultet is sung. The Service of Light includes four readings and responsorial Psalms, and this leads into the First Mass of Easter.

A Confirmation and joint Eastertide Mass for members, families and friends of the Confraternity of the Blessed Sacrament and Guild of Servants of the Sanctuary will be held at St Ambrose Church on Tuesday, 21st April, 2026, at 7:00pm. The Principal Celebrant will be The Right Revd Luke Irvine-Capel, SSC, Bishop of Richborough. The service will be followed by refreshments in the Church.

The May Devotion of the Society of Mary will be held at St Silas' Church, Kentish Town. The Principal Celebrant will be the Bishop of Richborough, the Rt Rev Luke Irvine-Capel. High Mass will be followed by a Marian Procession to Holy Trinity Church, Kentish Town, where lunch will be offered (c.£15) in the Hall. After lunch the AGM of the Society of Mary will take place in the church followed by Benediction and Tea.

As usual, there will be a coach from St Ambrose Church.

Sing to celebrate saving lives! 🎤
On Saturday 30th May, at St Ambrose, Westbourne, Bournemouth, we’re delighted to present a very special concert featuring not one, but two outstanding male voice choirs.
Marazion Apollo Male Choir will join the much-loved Dorset Police Male Voice Choir to help us celebrate the 25th anniversary of RNLI Lifeguards on our beautiful local beaches.
The Dorset Police Male Voice Choir needs no introduction to our audiences, while the Marazion Apollo Male Choir, reputed to be the oldest male voice choir in Cornwall, is based in the historic charter town of Marazion, overlooking the jewel in Cornwall’s crown, St Michael’s Mount.

The 102nd Glastonbury Pilgrimage will take place on Saturday, 5th September, 2026, in the grounds of Glastonbury Abbey.

12.00 noon: Solemn Concelebrated Mass sung in the Nave of the Abbey Church

For 30 minutes after Mass there will be stations for the Sacrament of Anointing, and confessions will be heard in a suitable location. Locations will be announced on the day.

Lunch (please bring your own packed lunch) and a chance to explore. Your order of service gives you admission to the Abbey grounds on the day so, if you go into town, remember to take it with you.

3.00 pm Procession of the Blessed Sacrament to the Abbey for Solemn Benediction in the Nave of the Abbey Church. Volunteers to take part in the robed procession [with banner(s), thurible and/or candles] are welcomed.

We usually take refreshment at the George & Pilgrim public house before boarding the coach to return home.
